A snow bird, a weekend camper, a two week state park setter, a full timer traveler, a full time setter, a summer only traveler?
All except a setter.

RE: Starbucks To Close 600 Stores!!

No, I'm just a realist and I think much of their customer base is the same folks up to their eyeballs in credit card debt and living in a home they no longer can afford. Now, they also can no longer afford the designer coffee either.
Still see a bit of the green eyed monster here. lol Could be from some of your other postings.
Or I could be mistaken. I was once.

RE: Starbucks To Close 600 Stores!!

I noticed in my region of the Country most of the store closings are in the "little rich kid", "yuppi" areas. Gee, did the "still-wet-behind-the-ears" bunch run out of pocket change for those over priced "big-shot" cool drinks?
Sour grapes?
Mandrake has got it right IMO.

RE: Should some take less to help others make it.

With the RV Industree, airlines, construction Industree, Hotel works, and many other jobs just holding on at this time.
Not really a general RVing topic from where I sit. For starters I question the 'holding on' statement.

The RV industry is not dying. Go take a drive on an interstate and count how many RVs you see.
True.
It's the glass half empty mentality speaking.

RE: Adopt-A-Pet Question

I have two rescued Greyhounds
Bottom line--purebred rescues are worth more dollars than mixed breed strays.
There are more efficient ways to fund shelters than pricing animals out of the reach of a family who could provide a home.

RE: If Banks fail(Depression?) should I have Cash on hand?

"Cash is not, in and of itself a good investment"
Good investment? Of course not.
Few would argue that some cash on hand is not a smart thing.

JALLEN, your information sounds well thought out and may be accurate.

Big portions don't automatically equate to good food.
I am curious as to how many of the Big Meal Posters are overweight.

"Chances are good they are actually the new car sales managers and would have the final word on a face to face deal."
Chances are better they are the 'glorified sales people'.

RE: We are definitely in a recession

"i just bought a bottle of tea at a gas station it 'proudly' boasted on the label that their bottle was made with only 70% plastic!
I couldn't find anything on the label that stated what they used for the other %.
I wonder what the 'other' 30% was made from."
The bottle was probably of the 'eco-friendly' type described in this link, a bottle simply using 70% of the plastic formerly used in plastic bottles or 30% less plastic.

RE: We are definitely in a recession

.....eeze are you the 'state your source police'?
The reference to brita filter was to state the TYPE of filter not necessarily the brand. :R
Bottom line anyone can have a reverse osmosis filter system installed in their home and have safer and better tasting water 'right from their own faucet'.
Here is my 'source' for this article, but of course my disclaimer is that I have no humanly way possible to check out the validity of the sources used. :B:B
http://earth911.org/recycling/plastic-bottle-recycling/plastic-bottle-recycling-facts/
Not police, simply not an expert on bottled water and filters.
I find it prudent not to buy into everything I read here. You disclaimer is well taken.

"They state they do have a filter on it but it is the type that is waaay 'less' effecient than if you put a brita filter on your own faucet."
Your source for this information is? The brita sales brochure? lol

RE: We are definitely in a recession

"And when I see people lining up to fill bottles at those kiasks in the grocery stores.....it's coming from the same water that is piped into the grocery store which is the 'same' water they would get in their house because the grocery store is on the same water system!"
Do you have fact or a link to substantiate this idea? Ever heard of 'filters'? Maybe they use them.
